Beach clean up (Open)

In the wake of the Hydra, Siren Cove was an awful mess. Not that said description did any justice to the citizens who'd lost their lives or those currently in the hospital because of the nightmarish creature. But just as much of the town remained as damaged as its people, and Cosette, with her own minor injury thoroughly taken care of thanks to Joel, is out at the beach to help with the aftermath.

The police and firemen were there, of course, as well as various church groups and charities. Cosette had volunteered instantly, knowing she could be of assistance, especially since it was the full moon, that night, thus enabling her to make use of her ability to spread good fortune to others. Already, she had reunited lost pets with frantic owners, solved a case of a missing purse, and potentially linked together a pair of future lovers.

Now, she is sorting through scorched sand and picking up scattered debris, keeping an eye out for any who may need her aid. This close to the sea, she is tempted to take on her natural form and investigate the waters as to the cause of the Hydra. But she knows better, and so she settles for letting her hair flow loose in the wind behind her as she continues her work.

She starts to sing softly under her breath, one of her favorite arias, as she works.

(OOC: Set to after the Hydra attacks, this is Cosette's introduction post of sorts. Find her roaming the beach, picking up trash, and singing as she does so. She's friendly, so feel free to say hello!)

"Hmhm. That's a bit of a women thing, isn't it? My mother always said that at least men are just allowed to throw around punches."
He's distracted now, finally after a long couple of weeks with distress, confusion and hurt throw at him. Cinderella's here.

"I don't know how to thank you, Corrine. Anything, anything you can think of. I'll make it happen."

[starsfallen]

Corrine only half hears him, eyeing the cat with reserved interest. She walks over to the feline in his arms, raises her hand above its head as if to stroke it, then stops abruptly. She seems to vacillate between motion and not for a solid few seconds.

"No, no. My pleasure." She wants to ask him to visit. To go out sometimes, not on dates, just as a companion. To break the monotony and the quiet. To get her a godforsaken drink a thought which she scratches right away. No, its all left unsaid. She smiles instead. "Careful there. Before you know it I'll be asking you to right music for the yet unwritten Corrine Flynn musical on the beach."

[bachjones]

"A what?" He looks up at her with a smile. "If you want to, I can do that. Although I usually write stories with music, so for the not-music parts you have .. you're not serious."

Bach gets up, Cinderella close against his chest. "Do you live here alone?"

[starsfallen]

Corry grins. He's more up for the task than she expected. "Duly noted. Though it was a joke. Mostly. It used to be my childhood forte - performing original shows by the sea here."

The shifting of the cat - and Bach, gives Corrine pause and she realizes she despises felines of all kind - even half entertain guests and why had she even entertained the notion of petting it. "Just me and mine." She rolls her eyes. "My manager is quite inflated with Hollywood lack-of-sensibility. The grander the greater."

[bachjones]

"Your who? You have a manager?" The penny drops. "You have a Hollywood manager? Shit, my moth-"

Bach focuses on Cinderella. "I guess we have to go home now."

[starsfallen]

"Have is such a strong word. But if the cat misses home..."

She tries to play off the reaction with nonchalance. "Well it does come with the professional acting territory. But she's more of a friend, really."

[bachjones]

"You're an actress? Oh, so that's why you feel familiar to me! I mean not like familiar but comfortable because I'd always see all those fa..ces." His voice trails off. "My mother reads a lot of those Hollywood people magazines."

[starsfallen]

"I did warn you about my scandals." She laughs, amused by the suddeny starstruck nature that's been so lacking since returning to Siren Cove. "Careful what you tell her, she'll want to know all the skinny on me."

[bachjones]

".. I haven't talked to her in five years." He shrugs. "Why didn't you stay there? I'm sure you made a lot of money."

[starsfallen]

She grins. "Eight for me. Sounds like we hit the jackpot on our families." Corrine plays it coy, lifting her chin and eyes. "I told you, scandals Bach dear. Isn't that enough? Just read the tabloids - 'America's Sweetheart Felled by Tragedy', 'Hollywood's Saddest Disgrace.' Besides, look at this place. I've got enough money to go around."

[bachjones]

"Oh. Yeah, I guess that isn't nice. I only got nice things when I was still playing for public. Or I guess.. they kept the less nice things away from me or something .."

Cinderella meows and claws at Corrine like she wants her to come closer. "Money is nice, definitely.. but gifts are still more fun. Hey, can I get you a pastry or something? Or do you want to come eat with us tonight?"

[starsfallen]

Corry takes a step back and stares from the cat to Bach and back, apprehension obvious in her voice. "Did I - why is she angry?"

Her eyes stay on Cinderella. "That sounds delightful, I would like that."

[bachjones]

"No, no, she isn't!" Bach takes Cinderella's paw and kisses it. "That was an invite. I swear, sometimes she's connected to me mentally or something. Did you mean the pastry or the dinner?"

[starsfallen]

"Whichever you'd like, Bach dear." Corrine is still eyeing the cat, and Cinderella is eyeing her just as keenly. Finally she holds her breath and pats the cat lightly - just once on the head before raising her hand, and looking at Cinderella like she may turn into an exploding-device. "Well then..."

[bachjones]

"Because I don't really cook only ..get. Or ask. No do-!"

Cinderella smacks Corrine's hand away, claws bare. "Cinderella!"

Bach drops her and takes Corinne's hand in hers. "Sorry, sorry, sorry. She doesn't wants to be touched when I'm around. I think it's jealousy, I'm not sure. Did she hurt you?"
